Different ways of Losing Weight

Submitted by Fitlifeforever on Wednesday, 18 February 2009No Comment

losing weightOne of the main work outs which will lead you to your desired slim shape is cardio. Cardio exercise are very essential as it has many benefits like:-

Weight loss

Stronger heart and lungs

Increased bone density

Reduced stress

Reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer

Temporary relief from depression and anxiety

So doing cardio work out not only makes you slim but fit in all ways too. It has multiple uses.

Apart from this you can do the following exercises which are directed as follows:

1)  Abdominal Dragon Flags:

First lie down on the bench with your arms above your head holding onto the bench. Now bring your entire lower body up towards the ceiling until feel the pressure and hold the position for some time.

2) Rowing:-

This is an often a machine in the gym which is not used much because most people are confused about how it works. Vigorous rowing can really get your heart rate up while working your arms like crazy. Plus, it’s probably not something you do very often which means you’ll burn even more calories.

3) Abdominal Barbell Rollouts:

For this kneel in push up position with your hands shoulder width (or wider) on a barbell. With your arms almost locked out on the bar push the bar ahead.

4) With the ball:

Take an exercise ball big size and lie stomach down on it and hands on the floor. Then one by one try to lift your leg upwards.  Then try lifting both the legs together, by doing this you will be putting more pressure on your back.

5) Ski Squats:

For this first place your feet at shoulder distance and two feet out from the wall. Next lean your back to the wall and bend your knees to a half squat position. After about 10 seconds, lower your knees by 2 inches. Then again after 10 seconds, lower the knees by another 2 inches. This completes one cycle. Repeat the cycles around 20 times.

Step Aerobics:-

Step is one tough workout that targets your legs, butt and hips while burning almost 400 calories in 30 minutes (during high intensity sessions). Though it might look complicated, step is easy to learn if you start with a beginner class or video.

Healthy Eating for Weight Loss

Most health experts recommend eating a balanced, healthy diet to maintain or to lose weight. But exactly what is a healthy diet?

A healthy diet includes the right amount of:

· Protein (found in fish, meat, poultry, dairy products, eggs, nuts, and beans)

· Fat (found in animal and dairy products, nuts, and oils)

· Carbohydrates (found in fruits, vegetables, pasta, rice, grains, beans)

· Vitamins (such as vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K)

· Minerals (such as calcium, potassium, and iron)

· Water

Last but not the least Get Enough Sleep

Recent research has shown that people actually gain weight if they don’t get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. This is the time the body heals and repairs itself and not getting enough sleep interferes with this process.
